GLEN RIDGE: SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL

Nestled between Montclair and Bloomfield is the small town of Glen Ridge, known for its highly rated schools, its historic gas lamps and tree-lined streets, its vintage homes, and close proximity to New York City. The beautiful homes along Ridgewood Avenue always inspire me to call this block the Champs Elysee of Glen Ridge.

While Glen Ridge does not have a major shopping district, it’s just a short drive from the well-known restaurants and unique shops of Montclair and Bloomfield. With low housing inventory, Glen Ridge homes are toward the upper end of the price scale for Essex County.

Glen Ridge public schools, with around 1,900 students, serve K-12, and are consistently ranked near the top in the state.

Getting to New York City is easy from the Glen Ridge train station, which is a couple of train stops closer than Montclair to the City on the Midtown-Direct line.  Bus service also runs to Port Authority.

There are several parks located in Glen Ridge that boast softball/youth baseball diamonds, a basketball courts, playgrounds, field hockey/soccer fields, running tracks and more. In addition, residents are a stone’s throw away from the popular Brookdale Park, which features walking/running trails, playgrounds, tennis courts and extensive lawns. We frequently take Lucy, our Chiweenie, to the dog park there!
